Judges prizes: Another heat that was slightly out of town for me, but thanks to Libby Charlton I managed to get there, even if it did take a bit longer than normal due to missing the turn-off and having to come back. We still had plenty of time it turned out when we arrived and it all went smoothly after then. It was a bit of a different format for this heat with Michael and Trish doing some musical poetry after a few poets had competed and it helped to break it up more than usual. There were lots of new poets in this heat and it was great to see the judges' prizes going to some regular competing poets who had been trying for a long time as well as a new poet. The next Poetry Idol is going to be at the Fitzroy Town Hall on Sunday 12th of July and will be a big one with lots of poets competing, also it is the second last heat before the final so competition will be heating up so come along. |
