NOW WITH ADDED FRED NEGRO!

I mainly go to see live music, but always appreciate something different to take photos at. When I was asked to come take photos at this event it was originally going to be on the Sunday, but luckily they asked me to come on Monday night instead or I would have been too tired.

Introducing Michael Crane and Les Murray, the speaker made a Freudian slip and called Les' re-released book "Freddie Negro" instead of Freddy Neptune, but it still counts as a mention, it will be in the Pub Strip next week I guarantee.

Also in the audience were Sian Prior who I have seen before at Michael's writing program and Paul Kelly, who quietly made his exit straight after the reading, but did enjoy the readings from the looks of it. Queen of Karaoke from the Greyhound Mia was also in attendance.

I have seen Michael doing a reading a couple of times before, but it was good to see him again in front of a much bigger audience and people enjoyed his work.

Admittedly I hadn't read or heard any of Les Murray's poetry, but I do know the difference between him and SBS Les Murray that TISM once sang about. You couldn't get a better introduction to someone's work than having them read it themselves. I am going to buy Freddy Neptune in the next couple of weeks and will have a look at some of Les' other work also (I would have bought it on the night except I have $3 in the bank currently.)
